Fresh bread. Honest brews. made the way they should be.
Since 1998, Hausammann Brewhaus has been baking sourdough loaves, shaping pastries by hand, and brewing small-batch ales on Central Avenue — so you get flavor that doesn't cut corners.
A neighborhood institution that never rushed a batch.
Hausammann Brewhaus started as a simple idea: bake bread the old way and serve it alongside a proper pint. Twenty-five years later, that idea is still the whole idea.
We wake up before dawn so your first loaf is ready by opening time. Our sourdough ferments for 48 hours. Our pastries are folded by hand, never frozen. And our draft program rotates with the seasons so there's always something worth trying.
Located on Central Avenue in the heart of Albuquerque, we've been the place locals come for honest food, real conversation, and a beer that matches the bread.

Our Process
We don't speed up what patience improves.
01
Source with intention
We work with regional mills and local farms. The flour travels less than 200 miles. The butter is from New Mexico dairies. Good bread starts before the oven ever turns on.
02
Mix, ferment, rest
Our sourdough goes through a 48-hour cold fermentation. That's not a marketing line — it's the difference between bread that tastes like bread and bread that tastes like a roll.
03
Bake, then serve
Every loaf hits the deck oven fresh. Every beer is pulled at the right temperature. We'd rather sell out than serve something we wouldn't eat or drink ourselves.
